It was early (7:30 a.m.) on June 26th when I took this picture of Lonesome George. I honestly thought he was dead. His head is hidden under the edge of his pen and he didn't move at all. No signs of breathing, to twitches, nothing. I watched for a while and absolutely no sign of life. Now we know why! Exhaustion! The old guy was worn out!

Exhausted George
